St Patrick’s Day Celebrations At St Ives
You can take the Irishman out of Ireland, but you can’t take the Irish out of the Irishman – or so they say. That statement has never been truer this year as St Patrick’s Day fever struck our Mandurah village, leaving behind a cloud of green and bellies full of good food and drink.
Leprechauns found their way to the Clubhouse, leaving behind a trail of four-leaf clovers in their wake. It didn’t take long for the St Patrick’s Day spirit to spread among the residents as one by one they ventured out of their homes and into the Clubhouse, each wearing as much green as they could. In true form, each resident has a unique approach to the costume theme and there were some great St Patrick’s Day outfits on show.
Our Mandurah residents will never shy away from a celebration, and St Patrick’s Day is no exception. Every year there is a party and as the day rolls on, more and more laughter fills the room. This year they were treated to traditional Irish music to celebrate St Patrick’s Day as authentically as they can.
As the party closed down, the leprechauns spread every last bit of St Patrick’s Day cheer that they could, hoping that next year there might be a few extra brave leprechauns to join them. With so many four-leaf clovers in the one spot, surely there was bound to be some extra luck generated this St Patrick’s Day!
We’d like to thank our photographer for the day, Bill King, for using his keen photography skills to capture the St Patrick’s Day leprechauns in their fine partying form!
